Bookkeeper, Production Accountant


We are seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper to help us keep track of our expenses as we endeavor to remain frugal in our mission to be part of the change we wish to see in the world. The bookkeeper should enjoy sharing in the satisfaction we receive from helping others when they need it most.

Overview of the Position:
The bookkeeper works closely with all members of the team to track costs and expenses related to NYC Medics Missions throughout the world. Initially, the focus will be on the establishment of accurate trial balances which can serve as the springboard of a closely tracked fiscal policy which enables us to report to our donors how their generosity goes directly to those who need it.

Responsibilities:.
- Entry of all expenses related to NYC missions using standard accounting software package.
- Preparation of pencil statements summarizing cash inflow and outflow.
- Assistance in the preparation of provisional financial statements.
- Balancing of bank, credit card, receivables, and petty cash accounts.
- Other duties as required.

Requirements:.
- B.A. Degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
- Experience in cost Accounting, Production accounting, or audit, Big Five experience, film, television or theatre finance experience a plus.


Web Developer / Interactive Manager


We are seeking a knowledgeable, efficient and detail oriented web developer to work with us to communicate our message on the information superhighway, as well as some well traveled back roads.

Overview of the Position:
We?e not completely un-web savy here, (as you?l see from our site), but we very much require a person who can dedicate time to adding important updates on disasters when we have them, posting blogs and mission diaries when we?e in the field, and rotating photo essays a couple of times per year and basic maintenance work. The time commitment is relatively minor, but there are cases, such as immediately following a disaster, when we?l need to make additions or amendments to the site relatively quickly someone who? flexible with their time in this respect would be much appreciated! The work can be completed wherever appropriate for the developer and at any hour of the day or night, subject of course to applicable deadlines.

Required technologies and experience:
- Experience in the development and maintenance of static and dynamic websites
- Able to work efficiently, independently on projects with short completion windows, developing
with low error tolerance.
- In-depth knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS, and Javascript
- Basic knowledge of Flash FLV player technology
- Proficiency in and experience with the following software (or the ability to fool us!): Adobe Photoshop,
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat (including digital signature), Adobe InDesign, PowerPoint,
Dreamweaver and Macromedia Director
- Experience in cross platform development (i.e. XP/OS X)
- Proficiency with MySQL, apache, PHP, and digital certificates (or ability to learn) a plus!
